BOYS BASKETBALL
Chambersburg 78, William Penn 56: The Trojans took a 20-7 lead after one quarter and cruised to a win in a non-league encounter with  York High on the road Saturday evening.

Landon Buhrman

”We set the tone early by playing really solid defense and controlling the glass,” Trojan coach Shawn Shreffler said, “which resulted in easy chances on the offensive end. York is a long and athletic team that was 2-0. It helped that J.J. (Kelly) was on another level and determined to be dominant.”

Kelly poured in 30 points to lead Chambersburg (2-0). Landon Buhrman tallied 15, Stanley Lozius put up 13 and Colton Cornell scored 10.

Shreffler said, “We shared the ball really well, had four guys in double figures and nearly had five. Another highlight was taking four charges.

”These were two really tests to open the season, both on the road and with different games plans for each. Our team did a fantastic job of executing both plans.”
