Chambersburg (7-8-2) did its part, knocking off East Penn (14-2), the No. 5 team in Class 3A, and now holds the No. 15 spot in the power rankings with the regular season over. The top 16 teams qualify and the first round of playoffs are next Tuesday.

“The game was a perfect snapshot of where we are as a team,” Trojan coach Paul Unruh said. “We proved that we have learned from previous mistakes and applied solutions, including defensive stability, mental resilience and maintaining intensity for the duration.”

Kadence Decker got Chambersburg on the scoreboard when she converted after a cross-field pass from Kacey Wise. The Panthers tied the game, but 11 minutes into the second half, Decker fed a pass to Bree Paetow, who tucked a close shot past the defense.

Paetow then iced the game with about a minute to go, taking a pass from Marley Onomastico and scoring the final goal.
