Last week: Chambersburg (3-5, 2-5 MPC) played a game it would rather forget, falling 21-14 to previously winless Altoona … On the other end of the spectrum, CV (4-4, 4-3 MPC) produced a 24-21 upset win over Harrisburg.
The opponent: The Eagles intercepted 4 Cougar passes on Saturday … The Cumberland Valley quarterbacks include Grant Shepley (44-for-95, 676 yards, 8 TDs, 6 Int.) and Kameron Wolfe (20-for-33, 290, 1 TD) … Brody Pines leads the Eagles on the ground, with 108 carries for 390 yards and 5 scores … Nolan Buzulka is the top receiver with 23 catches for 345 yards and 3 TDs, while Ke’aune Green has grabbed 12 passes for 278 yards and a score.
Coach’s view: Trojan coach Mark Luther said, “The biggest thing we’ll be facing is the confidence boost that CV will get from beating Harrisburg, even though Harrisburg didn’t really show up for that game. They really handed it to CV, but give CV credit for taking advantage of the opportunity they were given. The staff has done a great job in having their kids playing their best ball at the end of the season. We feel pretty good about our personnel matchups. And, they play a similar offense to us, and they use a 4-4 defense, which we’ve seen a lot lately, so that helped our preparation.”
Statistics: Passing — Ceagan Truett 75-for-141 (53%), 822 yards, 4 TDs, 8 Int. … Rushing — Antonio Harrison 82 carries, 420 yards, 6 TDs; Imani Watson 58-303, 3 TDs … Receiving — Trever Luther 33 catches for 413 yards; Evan Brown 10-151, 1 TD; Jason Chambers 9-122, 1 TD … Tackles — Stanley Lozius 103. 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 4 tackles for loss; Dylan Panfili 80 tackles; Isaiah Tasker 54 tackles; Chambers 48 tackles; Jude Grillo 47 tackles … Fumbles recovered — Kevin Demory 3; Brown 2 … Opponents have out-gained Chambersburg, 2,501 to 1,620 … On third-down, the Trojans have converted 26% of the time; opponents 44%.

Last week: Greencastle (2-6, 1-5 MPC) picked up a 40-21 win over Juniata to snap a 4-game losing skid. G-A outscored the Indians 19-7 in the second half to end a trend of losing leads in the latter half … Boiling Springs (1-7, 0-7 MPC) was on the losing end of a high-scoring game last week with Milton Hershey, falling 62-27.
The opponent: Despite the loss last Friday, the Bubblers had 3 players go over 100 yards on the ground — Javier Rosario 197, Sawyer Young 159 and Demetri White 101 — as the team totaled 495 rushing yards … Boiling Springs has scored over 18 points per game, but has allowed 43 per game … The Bubblers lone win came in the season opener vs. Littlestown.
Coach’s view: Greencastle coach Devin McCauley said, “They do give up a lot of points, but they have three solid running backs and a solid offensive line, and have scored points. They run a wing-T and the wingbacks get a lot of the carries. The nice thing is, most of the plays are plays we run, too, and they are in the same setup about 95% of the time. When they do pass, they’ve made them count. Our defense will have to concentrate on the run, but we can’t fall asleep. Their defense tends to try a lot of unorthodox things and they will gamble. We just need to play with the same intensity we did last week and not take them lightly. We want to be aggressive and get the lead early.”
Unsung: Jackson Bernardo, a junior, had 10 tackles to lead the team from inside linebacker … “At the start of the season, he was probably fifth string, but we’ve had a bunch of injuries and he’s filled in well,” McCauley said … Also, junior Asher Whitson played well on special teams … McCauley said, “Asher set up a couple of our scores by having a nice kick return. He’s been able to change the games with his returns.”
Statistics: Passing — Sean Marshall 63-for-117 (54%), 873 yards, 9 TDs, 9 Int.; Lane Barry 22-for-37 (59%), 272 yards, 3 TDs, 2 Int. … Rushing — Blake Reuter 83-400, 3 TDs; Lars Galinanes 64-257, 1 TD; Noah Shifflett 43-233, 4 TDs … Receiving — Carter McCauley 56-796, 10 TDs; Reuter 10-125, 1 TD … Tackles — McCauley 47 tackles, 3 sacks, 8 tackles for loss; Shifflett 47 tackles, 2 Int; Ben Belleau 42 tackles … The Blue Devils have converted 8 fourth downs (61.5% rate); opponents have done it 6 times (66.7%).
