Chambersburg 3, Carlisle 1: Bree Paetow and Kadence Decker each had a hand in two goals and the Trojan defense was able to protect a lead Thursday night in a Mid Penn Commonwealth road victory.
Paetow opened the scoring by hitting a long shot off the far post and into the net after a pass from Lilah Upham. Five minutes later, it was 2-0 when Decker found Malia Cramer with a pass and Cramer placed a shot over the keeper and into the net.
After the Herd got it to 2-1 with 12 minutes left, Paetow passed to Decker and her shot found the net to seal the win for Chambersburg (2-3-2, 2-2-1 MPC).
“We were able to absorb a great deal of second-half pressure and see out the game, which is a marked improvement over some recent disappointing results,” Trojan coach Paul Unruh said.
“Moriah Martin and Katy Weller are forming a solid center back partnership, with Katy recently back from injury. They were able to run a well-organized back line and stay connected with their defensive mids.”
