Hershey 5, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Blue Devils opened their season Saturday against the powerhouse Trojans and after trailing only 1-0 at the half, dropped a non-league verdict on the road.
G-A coach Tim Carey said, “The boys played well against the three-time defending District 3 champions in the first 40 minutes. After we had a missed opportunity, Hershey countered and scored 7 seconds later, making it a two-goal deficit. Then the boys dropped their heads.”
The Trojans out-shot Greencastle 18-6 and led in corner kicks, 7-5. G-A goalkeeper Joe Lofton made 10 saves.
“We are still finding ourselves and are very young,” Carey said. “We will turn the corner a lot quicker than I had originally planned. We just have to stay healthy.”
