Bryce King drove in four runs on three hits to lead Greencastle 10-12 International All-Stars past Carlisle 12-2 on Saturday in the opening game of West Pool Play. King singled in the third, scoring two, doubled in the fifth, scoring two, and doubled in the first to give Greencastle a 1-0 lead.
Carlisle took advantage of four Greencastle walks and an infield single, which was Carlisle’s only hit of the game to take a 2-1 lead in the top of the second.
Greencastle erupted for five runs in the bottom of the third. Chase Cordell doubled in a run, Ryan Emlet, Kolston Piper, and Bryce King each had RBI singles, and an error accounted for another run to give Greencastle a 6-2 lead after three innings.
Greencastle added two more runs in the fourth and ended the game with four in the bottom of the fifth.
King earned the win for Greencastle, allowing one hit and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking five.
Greencastle collected 12 hits in the game, led by King, who went 3 for 3 and had 4 RBI. Cordell, Jacob Stevens, and Piper each collected two hits for Greencastle.
Greencastle didn’t commit a single error in the game.
Greencastle (1-0) will host Shippensburg (0-1) Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Clary Field. The game will be broadcast on Mid Penn Broadcasting.
