The Tigers(7-3) hosted the Cardinals for senior night on Thursday evening. F-M honored their two seniors Drew Goshorn and Daxten Detweiler before the game.
After a scoreless first inning, the Tigers struck for a pair of runs in the second inning. Daxten Detweiler doubled to start the inning and moved to third on Adam Hammond’s single. Both scored on an infield over throw at first base off the bat of Noah Naugle.
The Cardinals added a run in the third inning when Peyton Taylor singled, stole second and scored on Sawyer Hollibaugh’s RBI single. The Tigers added a run in the bottom of third when Landon Arnold blasted a triple off the fence and scored on Wade Appleby’s sacrifice fly.
The Tigers scored again in the fourth inning when Broc Hostler doubled in Hammond and Naugle. Hostler scored on a passed ball to make it 6-1. The Tigers added two more runs in the 5th inning to finish with the 8-1 victory.
Tigers starter Logan Hall gave the Tigers a strong pitching performance. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits. He had 3 K and 1 BB. He pitched 5 innings to get the win. Reliever Daxten Detweiler pitched the final two innings. He gave up 1 hit, and had 3 K and 2BB.
Michael Strait pitched and took the loss for the Cardinals. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 8 hits. He had 6 K. He hit 3 batters and had 1 BB. Lupey pitched a scoreless 7th.
The Tigers had 8 hits in the game. Detweiler and Arnold each had a pair of hits. Appleby, Hostler, Naugle and Hammond each added a hit. The Tigers had 12 stolen bases in the game.
The Tigers return to action on Monday when they travel to Everett for an ICC matchup. The Tigers will host Everett on Tuesday evening. On Thursday the Tigers will play Blacklick Valley at 3:00 in the first round of the Altoona Curve Invitational Tournament at PNG field.
