Southern Fulton Defeats Tussey Mountain to improve to 12-0

The Southern Fulton (12-0, 5-0) Indians were victorious against Tussey Mountain 6-3 on Saturday at Tussey Mt High School.

The Indians opened the scoring in the third inning as Hayden Lawrence drew a walk and Joel Fitz homered to deep center field, scoring two runs.

Ethan Mellott earned the win for Southern Fulton. The senior starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking four. Christian Santamaria took the loss for Tussey Mountain. The starting pitcher went four and one-third innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking six. Ethan Powell pitched 3 innings and collected the save.

Fitz, the number nine hitter for Southern Fulton, led the way with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Powell, Jett Burger, and Fitz each collected one hit for the Indians. Burger led Southern Fulton with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game and stole four bases in the victory.

The Indians will host 1 loss North Star on Tuesday at 4:30.
