Fitz brothers lead the Southern Fulton Indians past Forbes Road

Junior, Joel Fitz was near perfect on the mound and twin brother Mark drove in five runs on four hits to lead Southern Fulton (10-0, 4-0) past the Forbes Road Cardinals 15-0 on Tuesday at the HB Mellott Sports Complex in Warfordsburg.  Mark Fitz singled in the first scoring two, doubled in the third scoring two, and singled in the fourth scoring one.

The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Fitz singled, scoring two runs, Austin Mann doubled, scoring one run, Ethan Mellott singled, scoring one run, Hayden Lawrence singled, scoring one run, Joel Fitz doubled, scoring one run, and Hunter Ward singled, scoring one run.

A single by Ward, a double by Fitz, and a double by Mann helped Southern Fulton Varsity Indians extend their early lead in the third.

Joel Fitz earned the win for Southern Fulton. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. Camden Lupey took the loss for Forbes Road. He  went two innings, surrendering eight runs on nine hits, striking out none and walking one.

The  Indians piled up 16 hits in the game. Ward, Fitz, and Mann each collected multiple hits for Southern Fulton.  Southern Fulton was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. 

Next up for Southern Fulton is a showdown with the Spartans of McConnellsburg at 6pm on Thursday in McConnellsburg.
