Paul Hendershot Drives In 4 To Lead Southern Fulton Indians Past Fannett Metal

Paul Hendershot drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Southern Fulton (4-0, 2-0) past Fannett Metal 6-2 on Thursday in a key ICC South matchup.  Hendershot doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and then doubled in the sixth inning, scoring two.

Fannett Metal opened the scoring in the first after one run scored on a throwing error. The Indians made the score

3-1 in the bottom of the first after Hendershot doubled, scoring two runs. Austin Mann then singled 3 batters later, scoring one.

Southern Fulton added one run in the third after Jett Burger singled on an 0-2 count.

Ethan Mellott earned the win for Southern Fulton Varsity Indians. The Senior righty allowed two hits and one unearned run over three innings, striking out four and walking three. Owen Oakman pitched four innings in relief for the Indians. The Sophomore right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. Wade Appleby took the loss for Fannett Metal. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering four runs on nine hits, striking out three, and walking none.

Southern Fulton pounded out 12 hits in the game. Hendershot, Hunter Ward, Joel Fitz, and Mann each collected multiple hits for Southern Fulton.

.Jake Coffman led Fannett Metal with one run batted in. He went 2-for-4 on the day.

SF will host Claysburg on Tuesday at 4:30pm in an ICC nondivision contest.
