The Southern Fulton Indians (15-9, 6-1 ICC South) fell to the Northern Bedford Panthers in Wednesday night’s semifinals.
Coach Wilt said, “We came out quick and outscored them in the first half of the first quarter. We started to force the ball inside too much, which caused turnovers. That holds down our shooting and gives them a chance to score, which they did capitalize on. We also gave them second and third-shot opportunities by not rebounding well. When you let a team shoot two or three times during a possession, chances are they will make a shot, even if it is a bank 3-point shot. Defensively, we did not fight our way around their screens, which gave them several inside looks at the basket. We just did not execute the level of play we are capable of.”
Harvey led with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Elder had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 blocks, and 1 steal. Pittman had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Stotler had 4 points and 3 rebounds. McQuait and Johnson each had 1 rebound.
The Indians will face the Forbes Road Cardinals on Saturday, March 2nd, at UPJ in the consolation game for third place.
