G-A roundup: Girls break skid; boys put up 80 vs. JB

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 49, James Buchanan 21: The Blue Devils stopped a two-game losing skid by collecting a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Rockets on Wednesday evening in Mercersburg.

Greencastle (9-5, 6-3 MPC) turned around its 3-point shooting attack, hitting 7 threes in 24 attempts, including one to start the game by Meadow Gambacurta.

Haley Noblit (15) and Eva Martin (10) reached double figures for G-A, but three other players tallied 6 points each — Mary Murray, Kylie Kerns and Callie Izer.

Noblit added 4 assists, Ainsley Swindell had 4 points and 10 rebounds, while Izer and Martin took down 5 rebounds each.

For James Buchanan (6-10), Sophia Stoner led with 8 points.

Greencastle-Antrim 80, James Buchanan 39: The Blue Devils poured in 11 threes, including 5 in the first quarter, and hung a defeat on the Rockets in a Mid Penn Colonial matchup on Wednesday night in Mercersburg.

Greencastle (12-2, 8-1 MPC) led 24-10 over James Buchanan (2-15) after one quarter and 45-22 by halftime.

Three players scored in double figures for G-A — Conner Wright tallied 18 points and Eli Sterling and Iyshone Coleman each scored 13. That was a career-high output for Coleman.

For the Rockets, Jake Miller and Drew Crouse each put up 13 points.
