McConnellsburg a winner over Mount Union

The McConnellsburg Spartans defeated Mount Union in a nonconference game Wednesday night 51-32.

Head Coach Joshua Lowery commented, “Tonight we simply struggled with our offensive. We couldn’t get anything consistently rolling until the 4th quarter, keeping the Trojans around long enough to breed confidence in them. We take pride in our defense, which bailed us out tonight to get the separation we needed to close out the game with a win.”

The Spartans improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in ICC South.

The leading scorers were Dom Jefferson with 12 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, Shaffer Early with 9 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, Hoyt Glenn with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, Brayden Ramsey with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block, Drew Mellott with 7 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal, and Kade Gress with 5 points and 3 rebounds.
