Southern Fulton girls defeat Northern Bedford 56-53

The Southern Fulton Indians (4-4) traveled to Northern Bedford to play on Tuesday night. The Panthers came out and scored the first basket. The Indians answered shortly later. The entire game was close scoring back and forth. The Panthers led at the end of the first half 22-20 and both teams entered the fourth quarter tied 38-38 and Lady Indians outscored the Panthers 18-15 in the fourth quarter to win 56-53,

Coach Wilhemina Wilt said “We traveled to Loysburg to play basketball, and that’s what we did. The girls wanted it and it showed. They worked the ball well and stayed poised. We capitalized on the free throw opportunities totaling 21 total points from the foul line. We also played well on defense, forcing turnovers and playing smart when we were in foul trouble.”

Stotler led with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Johnson had 14 points and 2 rebounds. Pittman had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Harvey had 10 points, 1 block, and 1 steal. Elder raked in the stats with 5 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, and 2 steals. McQuait had 1 point, 1 assist, and 1 rebound.
