Southern Fulton traveled to Tussey Mt. on Wednesday evening and dropped a close, non-division ICC game 44 to 40.
The Indians (6-3, 1-0 ICC South), trailed 21 to 16 at half time and by 10 at the beginning of the 4th quarter but rallied to have a 2 point lead with just under a minute left. The Indians hit 1 of 2 fouls shots for a 3 point lead and Tussey Mt. tied the game with a 3-pointer with under 40 seconds remaining. Southern Fulton committed an untimely turnover and the Titans capitalized on the other end to take a 2 point lead with 5 seconds left. The Indians could not convert on the inbound pass and Tussey Mt. closed out the ball game for the win.
Coach Jeremy Hann stated, “There isn’t one thing anyone can point to that lost the game tonight. We would have won as a team and we lost as a team. I just ask each teammate, including myself, to look in the mirror, remember what they would change if they could do it over, and we all grow from it moving forward”.
Southern Fulton was led by Jett Burger with 12 points, and 7 rebounds. Sammy Stotler had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Trentin Cain had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Hunter Ward had 6 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Paul Hendershot had 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Southern Fulton next plays at Fannett Metal, in an ICC South game, on Friday, January 5th at 6:00 p.m.
