BOYS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 81, Littlestown 62: The Blue Devils found the rims at East Pennsboro to their liking Wednesday evening, scorching the Thunderbolts by 19 points in a first-round game at the EP Holiday Tournament.
It was the highest point total for Greencastle (7-1) this season, and made for a much different kind of game than the teams played at G-A earlier this season, a 54-52 squeaker for the Blue Devils.
Greencastle had trouble stopping the Bolts’ Christopher Meakin, who scored 19 points in the first half and totaled 34 for the game. But only 3 other Littlestown (6-3) players scored.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils spread their scoring out. Eli Sterling tallied a career-high 24 points, including 12 in the fourth period to keep the Bolts at bay. But he had plenty of help, with four other players hitting double figures — Surzano Solomon and Logan Alvey with 14 points each, Carter McCauley with 13 and Jordan Hunt with 11.
Each team banged in 10 3-point shots, with Greencastle knocking down of of them in the first half on its way to a 47-26 lead at halftime.
G-A will play East Penn, a 68-56 winner over Donegal, in the final Thursday night at 7:30.
