McConnellsburg loses to North Star

Last Friday McConnellsburg defeated Southern Huntingdon Rockets in a hard-fought game 57-45.

Fast forwarding to Monday night’s game against the North Star Cougars, Spartans Head Coach Joshua Lowery said “Tonight’s game was a playoff feel game against the Cougars, our young team battled the entire game. I couldn’t be prouder of the guys. The Cougars took us into halftime up 25-20. We came out hungry causing three different lead changes but in the end the Cougars defeated us 48-43. Tonight wasn’t a loss it was a lesson and we learned.”

The Spartans where lead by Drew Mellott with 10 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 4 steals, Shaffer Early 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks, Dom Jefferson 8 points, 2 steals, Brayden Ramsey 8 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks, Hoyt Glenn 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, Kade Gress 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals.

McConnellsburg won the JV game 46-32. Reese Alexander had 11 points and 4 rebounds.
