The McConnellsburg Spartans defeated Northern Bedford 61-31 Wednesday night at McConnellsburg, despite scoring only four points in the second quarter the Spartans built a 22-9 halftime lead, and then exploded in the second half for a 30-point victory.
Coach Joshua Lowery said “We made some adjustments on the defensive and rebounding side of things. And that gave us the spark we needed. I was proud of our young ambitious team, and these are the type of games that will give us character in this marathon of a season, these ugly wins will do more for us in playoff time.”
The Spartans where lead by Dom Jefferson with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 7 steals, 1 assist, Hoyt Glenn 16 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks, Shaffer Early 8 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assist, 7 steals, 1 block, 1 charge taken, Drew Mellott 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steals, Kade Gress 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, Kohan Hall 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, George Richards 2 charges taken.
JV won 68-15, leading scorers were Kohn Hall 17 points, Kade Marpoe 14 points, and Jake Hann with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
