The Trojans answered back with a drive of their own to tie the score 2-2. The Trojans outscored the Indians at the end of the first quarter 11-6. However, the Indians battled back allowing the Trojans only 2 points in the second quarter leaving the half with a tie of 13-13.

During the third quarter the Indians worked their offense and scored 9 points to the Trojans 5 to go into the fourth quarter with a 4-point lead.

The game was close and both teams were becoming more aggressive, but the Indians were the team in foul trouble. The fourth quarter was huge for the Trojans as they went 6 for 8 from the foul line. At the end of the fourth quarter the Indians were down by 2 points and got to go to the foul line for the first time in the fourth quarter, making it the second time in the entire second half of the game with Harvey getting a foul called on a made basket during the third.

Stotler swished her first free throw and Tussey called a time out with the Titans leading by 1 point. Stotler returned to the line for an opportunity to tie the game and capitalized with another swished free throw. With 8 seconds left Tussey pushed the ball for a last second shot that was no good sending the game into overtime.

During the overtime period Tussey made a 3-point shot and had a layup. Elder had 2 foul shots she made.

Indians head coach Wilhemina Wilt said “We knew the game would be aggressive and we played well. Our downfall was our turnovers and missed shot opportunities. Most teams cannot afford to have 15 turnovers and still get into overtime for a chance to win. The girls played well, and we are proud of them. They never gave up, and even when the game was going into overtime, they were very composed and continued to play our style of game.

Elder and Harvey both led the Indians with 10 points. Pittman had 5 and Stotler had 3. Elder also had 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 4 steals. Stotler had 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Harvey had 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Johnson had 2 rebounds.”

The JV lost 40-4 with Gregory leading with 2 points and Moorman and Blankley each with 1.

The Indians travel to Everett to play the Warriors on Monday December 11th.
