Red Land ends season for G-A girls soccer team

ETTERS — The postseason for the Greencastle-Antrim girls soccer team came to an end Thursday afternoon.

The No. 5 Blue Devils, who finished with a 15-4 record, were shut out 3-0 by No. 4-seeded Red Land in a District 3 Class 3A quarterfinal game at Cross Roads Middle School.

The Patriots (15-5) snapped a scoreless tie with about 5 minutes left in the first half when Mackenzie Daldo knocked in a goal.

Emily Zortman made it 2-0 early in the second half and Karli DaCosta scored an insurance goal with about 5 minutes left.

It was only the second time Greencastle had been shut out this season.

It was also the final soccer game for senior Haley Noblit, who finished with 109 goals, the most in school history for girls or boys in soccer. She will play for Liberty University next year.
