Chambersburg roundup: Volleyball team loses tough one

Cedar Cliff 3, Chambersburg 2: The home-standing Colts picked up a 15-12 win in the fifth game to hand the Trojans a Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat on Tuesday night.

Cedar Cliff broke out to a 2-0 lead (25-22, 25-15), but Chambersburg (5-10, 2-6 MPC) then won the next two, 25-13 and 25-19, to even the count.

“We did a good job fighting back after losing the first two sets,” Trojan coach Ty Frelin said. “Cedar Cliff picked up their defense at the end and began to frustrate us offensively. Great match, but unfortunately, it was another five-set loss.”

Chambersburg has played five matches that went to the fifth game and are 0- in them.

Addi Kegerreis had a big match at the net, pounding down 20 kills. She added 17 digs and 11 service points. Paige Davis compiled 10 points, 4 blocks and 38 assists.

Marah Lehman put up 7 kills and 19 digs, and Alayna Jones had 8 kills and 2 blocks. Morgan Shaner scored 11 points, Nizaya Hawkins had 2 blocks, RIley Evans had 2 blocks and Karley Skultety led in digs with 26.
