“From the backfield to the forward line, our vocal and effective communication ultimately drove us to the back of the cage,” G-A coach Lorraine Hohl said. “We utilized our speed and passing game to get the OT win.”
Ainsley Swindell assisted on all three goals for the Blue Devils (4-10), who lost to Forbes Road last week, 1-0.
Kelsey Beauchamp scored first goal for Greencastle in the second quarter, and Annika Gaus also scored in that period.
BOYS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Shippensburg 1: The Blue Devils remained unbeaten by handing the Greyhounds a Mid Penn Colonial defeat Monday night in Ship.
Caleb Baine and Noah Parks sandwiched a goal by the Hounds’ Samuel Hepler in the first half, and a goal by Garrett Decker provided some insurance midway through the second half.
Andrew Bowers had two assists and Parks had the other for Greencastle (10-0-1, 9-0 MPC), and goalkeeper Ethan Ford made 9 saves.
G-A coach Aric Bruner said, “We knew tonight was going to be an intense game. Shippensburg had a big crowd for Community Night and their student section was well-represented, so there was a lot of juice in the stadium.
“The boys played a great game all-around on the slick surface. Ford made a few huge saves and I thought the boys knocked it around well offensively.”
