CHAMBERSBURG AT CARLISLE
Game data: Friday, 7 p.m. at Carlisle … Mid Penn Commonwealth game … Broadcast on MidPennBroadcasting.com.

Darrell Parker

Last week: The Trojans (2-2, 0-1 MPC) were physically handled by Central Dauphin, 35-7 … Carlisle (1-3, 0-1 MPC) took it on the chin from Harrisburg, 60-7.
The opponent: The Thundering Herd beat Mechanicsburg in their first game, but have lost 3 straight, to Gov. Mifflin, York High and the Cougars … Carlisle is averaging a respectable 25.75 points per game, but it is also giving up 39.5 per game … Harrisburg allowed only 4 first downs and the Herd had minus-35 yards on the ground … The top player is wide receiver Carson Swartz … Lucas Smith is a left-handed QB and the top runners are Darian Crim and Jackson Doyle.
Coach’s view: Chambersburg coach Mark Luther said, “Their quarterback has a very quick release. He’s been able to get out of the pocket and catch teams with that. Carlisle has a very multiple offense — they won’t line up and just try to pound you, they’ll use a lot of different formations, including some funky ones. They play a 4-3 defense and their safety (Javani Mosley) does a nice job of playing both sides of the line of scrimmage.”
Unsung: Last week, Trojan nose guard Darrell Parker (sr., 5-10, 250) played well on defense … Luther said, “He did some good things last week and he’s been wearing a club on his one hand. He got that off this week, so maybe he can improve his play even more.” … Safety Jason Chambers was also cited for playing well by Luther.
Stats: Passing — Riley Harmon 55-93 (59%), 761 yards, 7 TDs, 3 int. … Rushing — Antonio Harrison 32-119, 2 TDs … Receiving — Jermere Jones 14-251, 2 TDs; Jake Folmar 12-137, 1 TD; Rhaigeon Parker 12-115, 1 TD; Trever Luther 11-164.

EAST PENNSBORO AT GREENCASTLE-ANTRIM
Game data: Friday, 7 p.m. at Kaley Field … Mid Penn Colonial game … Broadcast on MidPennBroadcasting.com.

Xzavier Ramsey

Last week: The Blue Devils (4-0, 1-0 MPC) got past rival Waynesboro, 17-10 … East Penn (4-0, 1-0 MPC) ripped Gettysburg, 42-24.
The opponent: The Keith Oates Show has weighed on G-A’s minds this week … The Panthers’ talented quarterback threw for 347 yards and 5 touchdowns, and ran for 13 yards and a score against Gettysburg … For the season, Oates has completed 45 of 86 passes (52%) for a whopping 932 yards, with 9 TDs and 2 int., and has 97 yards on 24 carries and 7 TDs … He also led his team in tackles with 9 last week … Trey Good has caught 15 balls for 410 yards and 3 scores, Breckin Swope has 13 catches for 290 yards and 4 TDs and JJ Gossard has 6 catches for 126 and 2 touchdowns … Gossard has also run the ball 62 times for 263 yards and 2 scores.
Coach’s view: Greencastle coach Devin McCauley said, “Oates is probably the best quarterback in the (division). He makes plays with his feet and he throws a really good deep ball, so they have had a lot of explosive plays. With Oates (6-0, 205), when you rush him you have to contain him, because he can scramble. And the back end of the defense has to play well and maybe win some 50-50 balls. The other thing is, our offense needs to control the line of scrimmage, keep getting first downs and run the ball well, to give their offense fewer chances.”
Unsung: Xzavier Ramsey broke loose for 175 yards on 19 carries last week for the Blue Devils, which was the best game any G-A runner has had this year … “We feel he turned the corner,” McCauley said. “He had a good game and ran hard. He’s kind of a bowling ball type of runner.”
Stats: Passing — Logan Alvey 33-52 (63.5%), 418 yards, 5 TDs, 1 int. … Rushing — Surzano Solomon 23-260, 3 TDs; Carter Coons 19-245, 3 TDs; Ramsey 31-235 … Receiving — Carter McCauley 10-139, 2 TDs; Garrett Blubaugh 6-87, 1 TD; Coons 6-48, 1 TD … Tackles — Trent Merrillat 28; Parker Funk 27, JD Flynn 25; Logan Shifflett 23.
