Greencastle-Antrim 3, James Buchanan 0: The Blue Devils picked up wins of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-15 to roll over James Buchanan in a Mid Penn Colonial match Thursday evening at home.
“We had great energy tonight with some tough serving ,and aggressive play at the net,” G-A coach Corry Eagler said.
Alaina Garling produced a stat line of 13 service points, 8 aces and 10 assists for Greencastle (4-1, 3-1 MPC).
Wren Roberts had 12 points (3 aces) and Abigail Eagler put up 11 points with 5 aces. Also for the Blue Devils, Lily Kauffman had 4 kills and 2 blocks, Brianna Woodring made 10 digs and Kylie Kerns contributed 9 assists.
BOYS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 4, Northern York 0: The Blue Devils played a complete game and handed the Polar Bears a huge Mid Penn Colonial defeat Thursday night at Kaley Field.
“The players put it all together tonight, and what a huge win for our program,” G-A coach Aric Bruner said. “Our team effort in applying pressure was just spectacular. They showed they wanted this game from the start.”
Greencastle (4-0-1, 4-0 MPC) received first-half goals from Cooper Noblit (on an assist from Ewan Coy), Andrew Bowers (20-yard free kick) and Coy (penalty kick). In the second half, Noah Parks scored after a pass from Garrett Decker.
“Ewan Coy, Chase Davidson and Caleb Baine commanded the midfield all night and did a tremendous job of distributing the ball,” Bruner said. “This is also the fifth straight shutout we’ve had, something that hadn’t been done since the 2015 team had seven shutouts to open the season. The back line has been tremendous, anchored by goalkeeper Ethan Ford (6 saves.”

Northern York 2, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Polar Bears took a leg up in the Mid Penn Colonial standings by blanking the Blue Devils in a showdown in Dillsburg on Thursday night.
Greencastle (3-2, 3-1 MPC) had scored 18 goals in its first four games of the season.
Northern scored both of its goals in the second half, and both came off corner kicks.
