Northern York places first: Waynesboro had the medalist. but Northern York had the better team score Tuesday as the Mid Penn Colonial Division held its first golf match of the season at Gettysburg National.

Waynesboro’s Tyler Fortney shot 1-over par 72 to win medalist honors, finishing four strokes ahead of a pair of Polar Bear players. Andrew Soffe (79) tied for fourth for ‘Boro.

Northern scored 327 to the Indians’ 334. They were followed by Shippensburg (335), Gettysburg (361), Greencastle-Antrim (367), Big Spring (389) and James Buchanan (391).

Greencastle’s top player was Cooper Swam, who shot 86 to tie for 10th. Camden Eby and Nicholas Reid each shot 92.

Ship’s Mason Fogelsonger tied for fourth with a 79 and JB’s best score was an 87 posted by Abram Stock.
