Six run 4th inning powers Southern Fulton to victory

The Southern Fulton Indians (18-1, 15-1) traveled to Claysburg-Kimmel on Monday and clinched at least a tie for the ICC South crown by defeating the Bulldogs 9-4.

The Indians opened up a close game and pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Levi Souders was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Josh Morgan’s sac fly scored one run, Ethan Powell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Jett Burger singled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Ethan Mellott started on the pitcher’s mound for Southern Fulton. The Junior righty lasted only three innings, allowing four hits, three runs, and 6 walks.  Dane Harvey pitches the final 4 innings, only giving up 1 hit. The big lefty only surrendered 1 unearned run while striking out 7.

The Indians racked up seven hits on the day.  Dane Harvey and Kasey Fitz both collected multiple hits for Southern Fulton.  

SoFo closes out its regular season at home at 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 17 vs Meyersdale.
