Southern Fulton sweeps doubleheader

outhern Fulton traveled to Loysburg, Pa Friday afternoon to take on league foe, Northern Bedford, in a double header.  The Indians did not disappoint as they swept the twinbill, winning game #1 7-0 and then game #2 6-3.

Paul Hendershot was lights out in the first game.  The Freshman righty didn’t allow a single run against Northern Bedford County, throwing a complete game, 2 hit, and 0 walk shutout.  

Southern Fulton got things started in the first inning as Senior catcher, Trayton Younker doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Indians were able to blow the game open late as they put up three runs in the seventh inning.  Mark Fitz and Hendershot both drove in runs in the frame with singles.

Game #2 – 

Southern Fulton jumped on the board in the first inning as they scored two runs when Dane Harvey singled.

The Indians put up three runs in the fourth inning as  Ethan Powell and Jett Burger all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Junior, Ethan Mellott led things off on the mound for Southern Fulton. Mellott lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out three. Freshman, Owen Oakman closed the final one and two thirds innings, allowing zero runs on 2 hits while striking out 4.

SoFo  scattered 14 hits in the game.  Harvey, Josh Morgan, Kasey Fitz, Austin Mann, and Burger each had multiple hits for the Indians.  Harvey went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Indians in hits and RBIs (3).

The Indians get back to action on Tuesday at Southern Huntingdon at 4:30 pm.
