Hempfield 5, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans matched the Black Knights in number of hits (5-5), but could only punch across one run and dropped a non-league on Saturday at Greene Township Park on Saturday afternoon.
Hempfield (5-1) scored all of its runs in the first 3 innings, including a three-run second. Cole Yeager got the start for Chambersburg (1-4) and took the loss, giving up 3 hits, 3 walks and 3 runs.
Camden Helman pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief and Ryan Schellhase threw one hitless inning.
The Trojans scored their run in the bottom of the third, after the first two batters made outs. Chambersburg strung together 3 consecutive singles, from Chase Stenger, Wyatt Kissel and Treyton Sarvis.
