BOYS LACROSSE
Chambersburg 17, Delone Catholic 4: The Trojans opened their season on Friday evening with a bang, ripping the Squires in a non-league game at Trojan Stadium.
“We dominated groundballs and played well in transition,” Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said. “Riley (Harmon) and Jackson (Beardsley) did well on faceoffs. It was good to get that first win under our belts and start building some momentum.”
Harmon was 9-for-11 on winning faceoffs and Beardsley went 8-for-12, and Gavi Metzger was 1-for-1.
Logan Mulkey had the hot hands on offense, scoring 6 goals and adding an assist. Sam Kunkleman and Garett Iser each had 3 goals and a pair of assists and Harmon had 2 goals and 2 assists.
Also getting into the scoring act were Shea Makosy (1 goal, 2 assists), Owen Shearer (3 assists), and Brax Makosy (1 goal), and freshman Ryan Cosey (1, 1) tallied the first goal of the game.
