he Tigers hosted the Rockets in a non league contest on Monday evening a lost by a score of 70-50. The way the game started the Tigers looked poised to upset the visiting Rockets. The Rockets won the the second quarter 12-11, but the Tigers went into the half with a 29-25 lead. “We shot really well in the first half and played right with them, “ Coffman said.
The second half was a different story. The Tigers had three straight breakaways in transition to start the 3rd quarter and failed to convert on any. “In a game like this against a good team, you have to finish on those easy transition opportunities ”, Coffman said. With the Tigers struggling to score, Rockwood started shooting extremely well in the third as they picked the Tigers defense apart. The Rockets led 51-39 at the end of three. The Rockets continued their hot shooting in the 4th and pulled away for the 70-50 victory.
Rockwood put four players in double figures led by Christian Schrock with a game high 20 points. The Rockets out rebounded the Tigers 35-19. They also knocked down 9 treys. Broc Hostler led the Tigers with 16 points and 6 rebounds.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday night at 7:00 in their final home game of the season against Cumberland Valley Christian.
