Fast start leads Shippensburg over Landsdowne

The Shippensburg Greyhounds came out hot putting up 22 points in the first quarter and defeated the Landsdowne (Md.) Vikings 50-38 in the Hoops for Harmony Tournament at Chambersburg Saturday.

Quick three pointers from Jackson Stought and Cole Trn gave the Greyhounds a 6-0 lead they continued to build on and finished it off with an incredible shot by Reid Getic at the buzzer, halfway between the top of the key and mid court Gettic turned around and nailed a three pointer to give the Greyhounds a 22-9 lead.

Shippensburg built a 15 point lead early in the second quarter but saw it slip away as Landsdowne went on a 14-2 run to cut the Greyhounds lead to three and tied the game late in the third quarter.

The Greyhounds were able to finish it off outscoring Landsdowne 14-6 in the Fourth quarter.

Cole Trn lead Shippensburg with 15 points and Mason Foglesonger had 10. Angelo Harris and Trevor Howard had 10 each for Landsdowne.

Shippensburg improved to 8-5 overall and host Gettysburg Tuesday night in a Mid Penn Colonial matchup.
