The Shippensburg Greyhounds roared back from a 13-point third quarter deficit to defeat the Northern Polar Bears 52-42 Thursday night at Northern York High School.
The Greyhounds overcame a slow start in the first half, trailing 27-16 at the intermission. Shippensburg jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on a basket by Graison Michajiuk, and then the Polar Bears went on a 15-1 run before Cole Trn hit a two pointer in the closing seconds of the first quarter.
Shippensburg outscored Northern 17-8 in the third quarter to pull to within two points of the Polar Bears 35-33.
Cole Trn hit a three pointer with 6:02 remaining in the game to tie it at 36-36, Trn then came up with the steal and hit a short jumper to give the Greyhounds the lead with 4:52 remaining. Shippensburg outscored Northern 14-6 the rest of the way.
Shippensburg improves to 3-3 and Northern falls to 3-3
Trn finished the night with 17 points for the Greyhounds , Trae Cater had 10 points.
Gaven Moyer led Northern with 11 points and Ryan Wagner had 10 . .
Shippensburg hosts Susquehanna Township Wednesday at 6:30 p.m..
