Blazers romp to victory at Faith

MARTINSBURG, W. Va. – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers built a quick early lead and rolled to a 71-46 victory over Faith Christian Tuesday in their Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys basketball opener.

The Blazers (2-1) led 18-8 at the end of the first quarter and widened their advantage to 35-16 by halftime. They were up by 20, 55-35, at the end of three.

“I’m very proud of the way our guys played tonight,” Blazers coach Austin Sanders said. “We had a game plan coming in on how we wanted to play and how we wanted to dictate the pace of the game. Our guys followed through with great effort on the defensive end and executed well offensively. We put everything together tonight and the results showed. Great team win.”

Nollin Egolf led the Blazers with a double-double, scoring 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He was two assists away from a triple-double, and he also had four steals.

Aaron Minnier added 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Reece Hunsberger scored 15 points and pulled seven rebounds, Thomas Garvin had nine points and nine rebounds, Will Anderson scored three points, and Evan Statler added two points.
