McCONNELLSBURG — The McConnellsburg boys soccer team prevailed in a high-scoring game Tuesday night in a first-round PIAA Class 1A Tournament contest at its home field.

The Spartans were able to hold off Mount Calvary for a 4-3 victory.

McConnellsburg, the District 5 champion,  (21-1) will now face Charleroi (18-3), the District 7 runner-up, in a quarterfinal game Saturday. Site and time have not been determined yet.
