FIELD HOCKEY
Greencastle-Antrim 1, CD East 0: A goal by the Blue Devils’ Ellie Divelbiss was the difference in a Mid Penn Colonial victory at Kaley Field on Tuesday afternoon.
Divelbiss scored her second goal of the season and it was unassisted.
Goalie Jade Erazo stopped six shots by the Panthers to produce a shutout for the G-A defense.
Greencastle coach Lorraine Hohl said, “Our overall effort to step to the ball and anticipate passing improved our stamina and game play. It was refreshing to watch our center forward (Divelbiss) make a hard drive goal, ultimately for the win.”
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Greencastle-Antrim goes 2-1: The Blue Devils lost a close one to Boiling Springs, but picked up victories over Big Spring and Shalom Christian in a tri-meet in Newville on Tuesday.
Claire Paci returned to the lineup and captured first place for Greencastle (4-3, 3-3 MPC) in a time of 20:24.5.
Also for G-A, Katherine Board took third place in 22:16.3 and Avery Hinkle was 10th in 24:05.6.
Shalom’s Maya Lehman placed sixth (22:52.3).
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Greencastle-Antrim remains unbeaten: The Blue Devills rolled to wins over Boiling Springs (19-39), Big Spring (15-46) and Shalom Christian (15-50) on Tuesday afternoon in Newville.
Five of the first six runners to cross the finish line were from Greencastle (7-0, 6-0 MPC), including winner Hayden Parks in 16:42.6.
The rest of the G-A group were Kyle Baker (3rd, 17:25.1), Dalton Noblit (4th, 17:25.9), Caden Hudson (5th, 17:41.9) and Joel Amstutz (6th, 17:50.7).
VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Northern York 1: The Blue Devils dropped the second game, but managed to take care of the Polar Bears in a Mid Penn Colonial match at home Tuesday evening.
The game scores were 25-11, 21-25, 25-12 and 25-21.
G-A coach Corry Eagler said, “It was another match led by strong defense and consistent passing. These girls continue to pull it out when needed. It was a well-rounded team effort.”
Madeline Eagler racked up 33 assists, 14 service points, 3 aces and and 6 digs. Kate Furnish added 14 points, 4 aces, 5 kills, 2 blocks and 6 digs.
Also for Greencastle (6-0, 5-0 MPC), Abigail Eagler had 9 kills, 13 points, 4 aces and 18 digs; Kiley Burkholder made 10 kills and 11 digs; Ryleigh Davis was credited with 13 points and 14 digs and Brianna Woodring had 12 points and 12 digs.
