G-A roundup: Boys, girls soccer teams top ‘Boro

BOYS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 3, Waynesboro 1: The Blue Devils used a 2-0 lead at halftime to tack a non-league defeat on the Indians at Buchanan Automotive Stadium on Saturday.

Ewan Coy converted a penalty kick for the game’s first score and Caleb Baine made it 2-0 after a pass from Andrew Mellott.

Chase Davidson made it 3-0 (assist by Coy) early in the second half before Waynesboro pulled a goal back.

Ethan Ford made six saves for G-A (3-2).

Blue Devil coach Aric Buner said, “We’re in the middle of a stretch where we are playing six games in 10 days, so it was nice to be able to get some guys a few breaks throughout the game because we were able to start quick. We have another tough week ahead, so we will regroup and get back after it again on Monday.”

GIRLS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 5, Waynesboro 1: The Blue Devils turned a 1-0 halftime lead into a comfortable non-league victory over the Maidens.

Maddie Koons stayed hot on attack for Greencastle (7-0), notching her third hat trick of the season with three goals.

Also scoring were Rylee Henson (penalty kick) and Mia Libby, while assists were posted by Natalie Hanks, Hailey Baker and Abi Wolfe.

Susquenita 4, Greencastle-Antrim 0: The Blackhawks defeated the Blue Devils in a non-league game on the road Saturday.

Jade Erazo made 13 saves for Greencastle (2-4) and the team had four corners.
