Greencastle-Antrim 3, Northern York 1: In a huge Mid Penn Colonial game Thursday night at Kaley Field between two unbeaten teams, the Blue Devils’ offense and defense worked together to produce a victory over the Polar Bears.
“It was a huge win tonight — with all respect to the score, anyone could have won this game,” G-A coach Chris Noblit said. “Northern has the best team I have seen in a long time.
The Blue Devils’ Rylee Henson opened the scoring just 7:46 into the game when she zipped a free kick into the net.
In the second half, Haley Noblit scored for Greencastle (6-0, 4-0 MPC) to make it 2-0, before Northern (5-1) got one back with a penalty kick by Sydney Wait after a handball.
Noblit then added an insurance goal with less than six minutes left.
Chris Noblit said, “It was an intense game from the opening kick. Anyone could have won, we just happened to find the back of the net more. It’s going to be really tough when we travel up there.”
Goalie Lexi Nelson made 3 saves for G-A.

Ainsley Swindell scored the goal for Greencastle (2-3, 2-3 MPC), which is her seventh of the season, with just 12 seconds left before halftime. She was assisted by Ellie Divelbiss.
“It was a beautiful ball initially sent by Abby Stouffer, which allowed Ellie to one-touch the ball for a leading pass to Ainsley,” G-A coach Lorraine Hohl said. “Then she went 1 v 1 with the goalie and scored,”
