Mechanicsburg 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans won the first set 25-18, and, after dropping the next two, 25-15 and 25-22, rebounded to win 25-20 in the fourth set and set up a deciding game.
But the Wildcats captured the non-league, season opener at CASHS Field House on Tuesday evening by claiming the fifth set, 15-11.
Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said, “Mechanicsburg played very well tonight. Unfortunately, we had a lot of unforced errors throughout the match. We struggled to get into any kind of rhythm. Now we need to bounce back and get on a roll.”
