Trojans place fourth: Chambersburg improved two spots from its season opening meet by taking fourth place Thursday afternoon in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match at Hershey Country Club’s East Course.
The Trojans (2-8) scored a total of 324, while first-place Cumberland Valley had 309.
Jeremy Otto led the way for Chambersburg, shooting a 76 to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. Otto birdied holes 1 and 2 and finished with one-under 35 on the front side. He also birdied No. 15 on the back, but had a pair of double bogeys.
Jacob Bassham also broke 80, with his 79 tying for 11th place. He also scored a birdie on No. 1 and had nines of 41-38.
Teegan Humelsine shot 84 to tie for 21st Continuing the trend for the Trojans, he also had a great No. 1 hole, but he was able to post an eagle 3 on the par 5. Brady Fretz shot 85, with a birdie on the par 4 No. 9, to tie for 24th, and Chambersburg’s fifth-best scorer, Connor Sites, shot 102.
