Greencastle falls to Dillsburg 7-6

Dillsburg handed Greencastle 12U their first loss of  the tournament and forced a deciding game. The two teams will meet at Dillsburg Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with the winner capturing the Section 7 championship and a berth in the Pennsylvania State Little League Tournament in Bradford, PA July 27-August 1.

Dillsburg got on the board with the first batter of the game when Eric Sims hit a homerun to stake Dillsburg to a 1-0 lead.

Greencastle came right back in the bottom of the first when Luke Anderson singled, advanced to second on a ground out and Jex McDowell produced a run scoring double to tie the game 1-1.

The game remained tied until the top of the third when Brady Anderson produced a run scoring triple to give Dillsburg a 2-1 lead.

Greencastle came back in the bottom of the third, Connor Flohr tripled, Spencer Long and Quinton Carr doubled to put Greencastle on top 3-2.

Dillsburg tied the game in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch.

A three run top of the fifth gave Dillsburg a 6-3 lead.on a single, two errors, a walk and hit by pitch.

Greencastle loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the fifth but were only able to score one run on a fielders choice.

Dillsburg got the run right back in the top of the sixth after Greencastle retired the first two batters, Alexander Okoth singled and Alex Fronk doubled to make it 7-4.

Greencastle cut the gap to 7-6 in the bottom of the sixt,h Cam Rakaczewski hit a leadoff single and Luke Anderson followed with a two run homer.

Greencastle outhit Dillsburg 12-6 with Anderson, Flohr, McDowell and Carr each having two hits.

Okoth had three hits for Dillsburg.
