Connor Flohr pitched a one hit shutout and Greencastle broke open a close game with a four run sixth inning to win their ninth straight game defeating East Side 7-0 and move within one win of a return trip to the Pennsylvania State Championship Tournament.
Connor Flohr was dominant for Greencastle going six innings, allowing one hit, he walked three and struck out 13.
Greencastle took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Luke Anderson singled, went to second on a passed ball, stole third and scored when Flohr grounded out.
After the first two batters in the second were retired Spencer Long singled, Cam Rakaczewski followed with an RBI double to give Greencastle a 2-0 lead.
Greencastle added a run in the fourth when Quinton Carr had a one out double, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored when Eli Wingert grounded into a fielders choice to give Greencastle a 3-0 lead.
After the first two batters were retired in the sixth, Greencastle struck for four runs. Kelson Wenger singled and Spencer Long hit a two run homer to put Greencastle up 5-0. Rakaczewski followed with a single and advanced to second on an error, and Luke Anderson singled to make it 6-0, Anderson advanced to second on an error and came around to score on an infield hit by Flohr to make it 7-0.
Flohr struck out the side in the bottom sixth to wrap up the win.
Anderson collected three hits, Rakaczewski and Long each had two.
Dillsburg eliminated Octorara with a 16-4 win and will play East Side on Thursday in an elimination game. The winner will play Greencastle Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Ryder Field in Dillsburg. Greencastle will win the Section 7 Championship with a win, A Greencastle loss would force a deciding game on Saturday.
