Southern Fulton sweeps Doubleheader

Game 1:
SoFo Indians (5-2, 5-0) took the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory over Northern Bedford County on Wednesday.  The game was tied at one with The Indians batting in the bottom of the fifth when Konner Pittman doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.

Northern Bedford County opened up scoring in the second inning.  Andrew Francis was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Holden Stotler was the winning pitcher for SoFo Indians. The righty lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out eight.  Jett Burger threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Burger recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Indians.

Reece Musselman started the game for Northern Bedford County. The lefty allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one.

Dane Harvey, Pittman, and Zach Price all had one hit to lead SoFo Indians.

Game 2:
Southern Fulton improved to 6-2, 6-0 on the season today with their sweep of visiting NBC Panthers.  Konner Pittman drove in four on three hits to lead the  Indians past Northern Bedford County 16-5.  Pittman drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a single in the third.

In the first inning, Northern Bedford County got their offense started vs Jett Burger when Reece Musselman grounded out, scoring one run.

SoFo Indians evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning when Dane Harvey’s sac fly scored one run for SoFo Indians.

SoFo Indians pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  In the second an error scored one run for SoFo Indians and Pittman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

SoFo Indians scored seven runs in the fourth inning.  Ethan Mellott, Hayden Lawrence, Adam Ashkettle, Harvey, Trayton Younker, and  Ethan Powell powered the big inning with RBIs.

Jett Burger was credited with the victory for SoFo Indians. The pitcher lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out two and walking zero.  Harvey threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

SoFo Indians racked up 14 hits in the game.  Powell, Pittman, and Zach Price all managed multiple hits for SoFo Indians.  Pittman and Powell each managed three hits to lead SoFo Indians.

Southern Fulton will host Southern Huntingdon Tuesday at 4:30 in a showdown of the current top 2  ICC South teams.
