He was defeated 4-2 in sudden victory by Braxton Appello-Fries of Nazareth in a consolation bout at 126 pounds in the morning, then came back in the evening to capture a 7-0 win over Seamus Mack of Hempfield and take seventh place.

Shindledecker placed third as a freshman and was a PIAA runner-up last year. He finished with a fine career record of 103-25 after his 24-3 record this year. He is only the third Trojan wrestler to earn three state medals, after Garrett Hammond and Tanner Shoap. Luke Nichter had four for the Trojans.

In the first period vs. Appello-Fries, Shindledecker struck for the first takedown, but gave up escapes in the first and second periods to make it 2-2. Appello-Fries then rode Shindledecker for the entire third period and scored the winning takedown in sudden victory.

In the bout for seventh place, Shindledecker scored a takedown in each period, plus an escape to start the third.

Shippensburg junior Dominic Frontino finished in eighth place at 152. In the morning, he dropped a 5-3 decision to Dagen Condomitti of Northampton, giving up takedowns in the first and second periods, while scoring three escapes. In the match for seventh place, Frontino was edged 2-1 by Griffin Gonzales of Lebanon. The match was scoreless until Frontino escaped in the third period, but Gonzales scored a match-winning takedown.

Frontino ended the season with a 21-4 record.
