Ship’s Jed Ritchie takes 2nd in District 3 2A 500 free

NEW KINGSTOWN — Jed Ritchie of Shippensburg had the best performance among Franklin County swimmers on Saturday as the District 3 Championships concluded at Cumberland Valley H.S.

Ritchie was the runner-up in the District 3 Class 2A 500 freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:50.22; the winner was Alex Seman of Harrisburg Academy in 4:45.56.

The Greyhounds also placed sixth in the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Colin Krause, Ritchie, Jacob Pensinger and Bryce Pattillo touching the wall in 3:38.40. Krause was also ninth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.06.

The Class 2A girls, James Buchanan’s team of Kortney Green, Allison Bradley, Alexa Myers and Madison Price placed eighth in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:00.32.
