Fannett-Metal Falls to Berlin Brothers Valley

Fannett-Metal (13-11) traveled to Berlin Brothers Valley  in the second round of the District Five Playoffs and lost by a score of 89-35.   The Mountaineers jumped out to a 32-14 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.  “ We ran into a hornets nest tonight.   They shot the ball extremely well, and their physical style of play is unlike anything we see all season.  We were  just no match for them”, Tigers Coach Paul Coffman said.

The Tigers will return to action next Wednesday for a consolation game against Shanksville.   The game will be played at a neutral site with the winner advancing to the PiIAA State Tournament.   “We will regroup , watch some game film and come up with game plan for that game in hopes of continuing our season”, Coffman said.
