Fannett-Metal Picks Up 70-62 Victory Over McConnellsburg

The Tigers ( 8-6, 7-2 ICC) went on the road and defeated the Spartans 70-62 in an  ICC matchup Friday night.   MCConnellsburg’s Logan Hoffman hit a 3 pointer at the end of the first to take a 21-20 lead after one.  But the Tigers would win every quarter the rest of the way to lock down the victory.  “This was a tight game the whole way with a playoff type atmosphere.  I was proud of how we handled the adversity throughout the game.  Hunter and Wyatt got their points tonight, but we needed everyone to win this game.   Luke Coffman and Ayden Warren really stepped up and handled their press well down the stretch”, said Tiger Coach Paul  Coffman.  I also can’t say enough about how the underclassman just do their jobs when they are in the game”, Coffman said.
The Tigers put four players in double figures tonight; Hunter Hill (30 points), Wyatt Appleby (18 points and 14 rebounds, Luke Coffman (12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals, and Riley Martin (10 points and 8 rebounds).   The Tigers shot 91% from the foul line tonight as they were 20 for 22.  Cole Truax led the way for the Spartans with 21 points.
The Tigers Junior Varsity moved to 6-2 on the season with a 48-24 victory.
Fannett- Metal will be on the road at Southern Huntington fior another ICC Matchup scheduled to start at 6.
