Fannett-Metal Beats Tussey Mountain 82-60

F-M evened their record to (6-6) with a solid 82-60 victory over visiting Tussey Mountain. The Tigers jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 40-26 with a 25 point 2nd quarter. “Our defense really ignited our offense in the 2nd quarter as we scored on a handful of steals that we converted into transition lay ups”, said Tigers Coach Paul Coffman. The Tigers put the game away in the 3rd quarter to come away with a 82-60 ICC win. “We shot the ball much better tonight knocking down (11) three pointers by five different players, and we worked the ball inside when it was there. Overall it was a solid all around performance”, Coffman said.
The Tigers were led in scoring by the duo of Wyatt Appleby (33 points, 10 rebounds) and Hunter Hill (27 points). Luke Coffman chipped in (11) points. The Tigers had 16 steals in the game led by Ayden Warren and Coffman with (4) each. Although they don’t show up in the stat sheets like the seniors, I was really pleased with the play of underclassman Drew Goshorn, Riley Martin and Evan Wingert tonight”, Coffman said.
The Tigers Junior Varsity raised their record to 5-2 on the season with a 54-34 win.
Fannett- Metal will travel to Forbes Road on Wednesday evening for an ICC matchup scheduled to start at 7:30.
