Zach Evans places 5th: Chambersburg’s Zach Evans went 3-1 on Sunday at the Escape The Rock Tournament at Council Rock South and ended up taking 5th place at 215 pounds in the prestigious event.

Evans was the only Trojan to medal and helped the team place 28th in the field of 59 teams.

Evans defeated Jared Blobe of Notre Dame Green Pond 4-1 in his first consolation bout, then decisioned Aden Roe of Council Rock North 7-5 after bolting to a 7-0 lead.

In the consy semifinals, Evans was defeated 7-2 by Dominic Petrucci of Washington Twp. The bout was tied 2-2 after two periods, but Petrucci posted a takedown and nearfall in the third.

In the match for fifth place, Evans trailed Dante Burns of Conwell Egan 3-1 entering the third period, but took him down to his back for a pin in 4:22.
