GIRLS BASKETBALL
Boiling Springs 46, Chambersburg 44, OT: A 3-point basket by Megan Posey in overtime helped the Bubblers capture a non-league victory over the Trojans on Monday night in Boiling Springs.
Lily Cornwell put together am impressive fourth quarter for Chambersburg (1-8), scoring 9 of her career-high 15 points in that period, including a pair of threes. Her team outscored Boiling Springs 14-7 to tie the game; however, the Trojans were only 2-for-9 at the free throw line in the final 8 minutes or they could have put away the win. For the game, they were only 10-for-25 at the stripe.
In overtime, the Bubblers, who came into the game with an 0-6 record, outscored Chambersburg 6-4, helped by Posey’s big shot. Molly Starner scored 12 points and Posey 10 for Boiling Springs.
Also for Chambersburg, Titi Kelly matched her career high with 12 points and Bridget Kemerer also had a career-high total of 8 points.
