New Oxford 36, Greencastle-Antrim 35: The Blue Devils fell behind early, could never quite catch up in the fourth quarter and were handed their first defeat of the season on Monday night in a non-league contest on the road against the Colonials.

New Oxford (3-5) took advantage of Greencastle’s shooting woes in the first half — G-A made only 4 of 22 shots in that half — to take a 16-12 lead at the break. The Blue Devils (8-1) fell behind by 10, then fought back to trail only 26-25 after three periods, but never claimed the lead in the final period. Last-second shots by Mia Libby and Haley Noblit came up empty.

Ainsley Swindell led Greencastle in scoring with 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Lauren Pool had 9 points and 5 boards, while Noblit totaled 9 points,  4 rebounds and 4 steals.
